Union Printers

TEXAS ALLIED PRINTING TRADES COUNCIL

Candidates for office seeking labor's endorsement are strongly encouraged to use one of the union printers below for their printing needs. Look for the "union bug"!

The Printing, Publishing, and Media Workers Sector of the Communication Workers of America (CWA) and the Graphic Communications Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (GCC-IBT) make up the Allied Label.

Look and ask for the International Allied Printing Trades Council label – the familiar “bug” – on all printed material. It’s your assurance of quality and craftsmanship. The bug also guarantees that the men and women who work on your printed materials receive good wages and benefits in plants that practice responsible labor-management relations. When you patronize the union plants listed in this directory, you are helping to support unionized employees in the printing industry.

It has come to the attention of the Texas Allied Printing Trades Council that some irregularities have occurred concerning the printing of the Allied Union Label and the authorized Union Labels of either CWA or the GCC-IBT.  The Union Label indicates to all parties that the International Allied Printing Trades Council label is a registered trademark and, therefore, protected by federal and state laws governing such trademarks.  Illegal use of the Allied Label is a violation of federal copyright laws.

Please make certain that the printer you are doing business with is on the authorized Union Printers lists from either the Texas Gulf Coast Area Labor Federation at https://www.gcaflcio.org/about-us/union-printers, the Texas AFL-CIO, or GCC-IBT LU 4535M’S websites.

We also encourage you to do business with a local union printing business to create jobs locally.
