COUNTY SPECIFIC COVID-19 RESPONSE ORDERS

Stay at Home orders have been issued in the following counties. All take effect tonight, March 24th at 11:59PM.

All other counties in the region have issued guidance based on Federal and State guidelines limiting gatherings and closing restaurants. More information is available at the links below:

  • We have updated our website with information on food services for working families. Click here for the full list. 

  • Harris County will hold off on evictions at least through the end of March, providing additional relief to renters who are out of work and are taking up the necessary steps to prevent contracting coronavirus.Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo announced Thursday that justices of the peace will suspend evictions. She added she will sign an executive order to extend the suspension if needed. More information can be found here.

  • Here's what falls under Abbott's executive order:

    • Every person in Texas must avoid social gatherings that have more than 10 people.

    • People should avoid eating and drinking at bars, restaurants and food courts or visiting gyms. There will be no dining at bars or restaurant dining rooms since they will be closed. Restaurants can still offer take-out options.

    • People shall not visit nursing homes, retiring centers or long-term care facilities unless they're providing critical care assistance.

    • All Texas schools must close temporarily. This does not mean that education stops. Superintendents will continue to work with the Texas Education Agency to continue online or additional educational options.
